Living and Giving by Grace Alone

In 2 Corinthians 9:1-15, Paul emphasizes that generosity, like all good works, is enabled by God’s grace. While we often consider our finances to be under our control and a result of our hard work, they are actually gifts from God. Generosity, like all of the Christian life is by grace alone.

The body of Christ is bigger than our church.

The body of Christ extends beyond the local church. While we are focused on the planting of our local church, we must continue to find ways to engage in God’s global gospel work.

2 Corinthians 4 reminds us that our God wastes nothing. He works through our afflictions to prepare us for glory.

Hurry, Hurry, Hurry

We forget our lunch on the counter because we sprint out the door to work or school. We make a mistake on our homework assignment because we procrastinate and complete it at the last possible minute. This is all true of course, but the proverb speaks beyond simple lapses of memory and time management.
